'Stackalee' is based on an actual murder in St. Louis in 1895, as Harry Smith describes in the liner notes “theft of stetson hat causes deadly dispute.” According to some sources Stack Lee was a person named Lee Sheldon who shot a man after his hat was snatched, he was arrested and sent to prison.

Dearraindrop is a US-based art collective. A wide range of media are often included in their work, including animation, painting, drawing, collage, fabric, sculpture, interactive work, and music. Dearraindrop has had a number of gallery shows in New York City, as well as shows in Tokyo, Oslo, Padova, Chicago, and Miami. In 2005, the collective published a book of their work, entitled, ‘OFF/ON.’
