THE HOUSE CARPENTER BY CLARENCE ASHLEY, 1930

Early in his career Clarence Ashley travelled with medicine shows,
and in the 1920s and 1930s he acted as a front man in many of the
groups he played with, mixing humour with music.‘The House Carpenter’
is described in the Anthology liner notes as "Wife and mother
follows carpenter to sea; mourns babe as ship goes down."
Jelle Crama is a Belgium-based artist. He has produced screen printed
editions and record covers for bands including Yellow Swans and many
releases on the Audiobot label.
