Kyle Field, Fjord Captain, 2007

84. FISHING BLUES BY HENRY THOMAS, 1929

REMIX: KYLE FIELD, FJORD CAPTAIN, 2007

This fun tune was popularized during the late 20th century by performers Taj Mahal and the Lovin' Spoonful. Field’s work is based on fish, their bodies and the rings of water surrounding their bubbles, with the watercolour forms resembling surf and waves.

Now based in New York, Field grew up in California drawing, swimming and coming up with new disguises, as well as making small ramps, finding ditches and reading books by Mark Twain. He makes music as Little Wings on K Records and his ink and watercolour images are ethereal journeys in the secret history of our subconscious. His work has been shown at Cinders Gallery in New York, Junc Gallery in LA and Atelier Gallery in Paris.
